Laos is officially named the Lao People's Democratic Republic. In Laos, company registration is managed by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce through the Department of Business Development. Common company types include the Limited Liability Company (LLC) or ບໍລິສັດມີຄຳກຳຫນົດທາງການຄົມຄົງ (Borisat Mee Khamsa Khamnod Thang Kan Khomkhong), and the Joint Stock Company (JSC) or ບໍລິສັດຜູ້ຖືຫົວຫນ່ວຍສາຍ (Borisat Phu Thu Hua Nua Sai), with businesses mainly concentrated in sectors such as agriculture, energy, and construction.
